Screen/Pixel Burnt-out

by Louie
(Saudi Arabia)

I would like to know if a comparison was made between Sony Led TV vs Samsung Led TV regarding screen/pixel burn-out issues that is common in LCD TV particularly if the image is fixed such as text file as normally being done for displaying flight information at the airport and price index at stock market? If yes, the figure on the no. of hours before burnt-out would be appreciated.

Image Sticking in LCDs
by: Andrew Ghigo

LCDs do not suffer from burn-in; this is something that has got to do with phosphor-based displays such as CRT and plasma TVs. Instead, LCDs may suffer from what is known as image sticking.

More on this in our guide
Image Sticking in LCD TVs
.

Note however that image sticking in LCDs is generally totally reversible and occurs only in extreme cases of use. No such tests were carried out on the reviewed models for the simple reason that under normal home entertainment use, image sticking is a non issue.
