Not sure what an RSS feed is?
RSS News Feeds Explained

RSS news feeds represent one of the easiest ways to keep updated with all that's new on your favorite website.

What is an RSS

Following the introduction of RSS feeds on our site, we received a number of queries from readers asking what are these feeds and how they can be used.

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication.

An RSS feed is an easy way for you to keep abreast with all that is new on your favorite website.

Instead of having to visit the site to check if there is anything new of interest to you, you can use an RSS news feed from that site to get the website to let you know when they have something new for you to read.

Practical-home-theater-guide.com is now offering an RSS feed for its most recent website updates.

How can you make use of an RSS Feed?

In order for an RSS news feed to be of any value, you need to get hold of an 'RSS News Reader'. This will display the websites RSS feeds on your computer.

RSS feeds are becoming a very popular way of finding out updates to your favorite sites as this information can be gathered in just one place - your RSS reader!

How do you get a News Reader for RSS feeds?

There are a number of news readers available, some are free while for others, you have to pay.

One important thing to note here is that the majority of these readers will only work on a Windows platform - so choose your RSS news feed reader carefully.

Recommended 'FREE' Feed Readers:

FeedReader

This is a free simple RSS reader that provides you will all the basic functionality - reading and organizing RSS feeds. It works on Windows 95 or later platforms, and would enable you to read the full topics description within the RSS feed.

My Yahoo!

This is an online RSS news feed reader with integrated Yahoo search. It is very simple to use and you do not need to download anything. Just log-on to My Yahoo, and then you can customize your own My Yahoo page with RSS feeds of your choice.

The only limitation is that topic descriptions within a website feed are limited to some 200 characters.  Not much of an issue though since you can still access the website link related to the feed topic.

My Yahoo also provides an easy way for websites to enable their readers to add their favorite site RSS feed to My Yahoo by a simple click of a button.

For example - click on the My Yahoo button Add to My Yahoo! to add RSS news feeds from Practical-Home-Theater-Guide.com to your 'My Yahoo' page.

How can you sign up to RSS feeds from www.practical-home-theater-guide.com?

Just click on the link that says 'RSS feed' or the RSS orange icon Practical-Home-Theater-Guide.com RSS Feed on the home page.

You will then need to follow the instructions of your particular RSS News Feed Reader in order to add this feed to your RSS list. However, this is usually a very simple thing to do.

If you use My Yahoo RSS feed reader, all you have to do is to click on the My Yahoo button to add this site feed to your My Yahoo page Add to My Yahoo!

Now you are all set to have access to the latest website updates!
