Panasonic V10 - Cancelling Order Now

by Jill
(Grasonville MD)

I have a 2009 Panasonic 58" Plasma V10 on backorder with Panasonic direct. I also was going to order today from Amazon a Panasonic 26" X1 LCD HDTV and a Panasonic BD60 Blu ray player.

If they were going to back up their product with their current customers, I would keep the plasma on backorder and also go ahead and place the order with Amazon knowing that Panasonic would back up the product if by chance, I had a V10 that had an issue.

However, after hearing their response to the customer issues, I will be cancelling my order today and going elsewhere for all 3 products.

It's a shame because I was excited about the Panasonic products and was trying to streamline to this brand since I was just given a brand new 42" Panasonic plasma from a family member. I'll just standardize to another brand and have the 42" be the outlier.

Shame on Panasonic for treating their current customers this way. I won't be purchasing any Panasonic products in the future.

Scared to buy Panasonic Plasma
by: James

I bought a 42" plasma last 2008. At first, I was reveling at how deep its black levels were and couldn't stop myself from watching HD Contents and playing games on PS3. I even bought a lot of titles, movies and documentaries alike, to feed the HD capability. I used the set at least 8 hours a day for 6 months. One time, I noticed that the black bars on the top and under the bottom of a widescreen film were conspicuously lighter than the bezel of the TV.

I fed Wall-E blu-ray to recalibrate contrast and picture quality. But to my surprise, the blacks weren't turning as black as it used to be.

I sold the set for less than half of its price October last year and never bought any HDTV because of the disappointment I got from Panasonic Plasma.

Now that I wanted to move on and wanting to watch HD contents again, plus I haven't finished Fallout 3, Disgaea 3, Devil May Cry 3, Ratchet and Clank, plus I bought new titles, FFXIII and Tekken 6.

When I checked at an appliance store, they were selling a Panasonic Plasma TH-P50S10 fullHD 50" set at an incredibly low price plus, yes, plus a blu ray player.

Now, it made me more suspicious because the display panel was exhibiting signs of lightening as it is placed beside Samsung's Series 8 LED TVs.

I rather chose the LG-50PJ350. Not only was it cheaper, it also had 3,000,000:1 contrast ratio.
