The Toshiba 50-inch TheaterWide® 50HP81 HD Plasma TVToshiba has managed to come up with a large-screen home theater video display panel designed to deliver images of unprecedented clarity, contrast and brightness, housed in a unit less than four inches thick. The 50HP81 Toshiba plasma TV comes with a native display resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. This means that it is capable of displaying the full display content in a 720p High Definition video signal without re=scaling. This plasma display is also capable of delivering a good level of brightness (500cd/m2), while an exceptional high contrast ratio of 3000:1, ensures that this Toshiba plasma TV delivers bright crisp clear pictures and vivid colors. Equipped with composite video inputs and outputs, as well as S-video, ColorStream HD™ Component Video, and RGB inputs, the 50HP81 is ideal for use as the centerpiece of any home entertainment system. As already indicated, this Toshiba plasma TV is fully HDTV-Compatible; it can accept and up-convert any image in order to match the set 1366 x 768 native resolution. It is the perfect mate to a Toshiba progressive scan DVD player, and the DST3000 HD Set-Top Box. The 50HP81 includes a wealth of advanced image enhancement technologies to deliver extraordinary plasma TV picture quality. Its plasma panel features a series of red, green and blue filters embedded within the front glass that eliminate any undesirable light emissions from the individual pixels. This creates realistic color balance and very good image quality. For maximum viewing flexibility, this Toshiba plasma TV provides a choice of aspect ratio modes for viewing standard 4:3 format and 16:9 wide screen program materials with the highest-possible image quality.
