The Latest in
High Definition 4K TVs:
Buying a New
The highest display resolution is no longer 1080p with its 1920 pixels by 1080 lines; instead, during 2012 we have seen the first of a new high definition display technology called 4K supporting four times the picture detail afforded by 1080p HDTV standard. And from what we have seen at CES2013, 2013 seems geared to deliver more of these 4K TVs from both large and small TV makers at different screen sizes!
But... What is 4K? What are the implications of this new technology, and what does it mean in the real world to have four times the picture detail over the typical TV size found in home entertainment? Would moving from 1080p to 4K resolution deliver the same 'WOW' factor as when moving from standard to 1080p HDTV?
