Welcome to the November issue of
Practical HT Guide Update
To-day,
Practical-Home-Theater-Guide.COM celebrates its first two years online!
It was exactly on November 18, 2003, when the first webpage went
online. Surely, in this relatively short time, a lot of things have
changed - not only in this high-tech area - but also with the site content
itself.
And the work on the site is a never ending adventure! As
promised in the October issue of this monthly e-zine, I continued working on
two new plasma-TV guides; in addition, I have also updated all content
appearing under the
Plasma TV Reviews section of the site.
More info on the new content is given below:
New Plasma TV Guides:
-
Protecting your Plasma TV Investment
Simple steps you can take to keep your plasma TV unit performing at its
best.
-
Plasma TV FAQs
Answers to a comprehensive list of Plasma Television FAQs, covering use,
technology, and even fictions you might have heard or read about.

Plasma TV Reviews for Archived Products
In the coming weeks, I will be revising most of the
content appearing under the Front Projection TV section of the site.
This update will take us through a number of product
reviews I have long been waiting for - including some interesting home
theater projectors from Panasonic.
There are also two articles/guides in
the pipeline that specifically relates to home theater projectors and video
systems.
One of these guides will discuss the main differences or
requirements, between home theater projectors and business-rated
projectors. The idea here cropped up following a query I received through
the
site feedback submission form.
The other article will discuss the issue of contrast
ratio. Lately we have started to see some manufactures quoting values
for contrast ratio in the region of 10,000:1. Surely, the higher the
contrast ratio, the better should be the picture.
But in practice, would the eye be able to perceive
any difference in image quality between one having a contrast ratio of
5000:1 and another having a contrast ratio of 10,000:1? More on this
in the coming weeks.
It is hoped that 'YOU' will
enjoy and profit from these new additions to our site!
Take care and stay tuned!
