It comes to no surprise that this Samsung Plasma TV has been consistently rated as the best selling '60-inch plus' plasma display at amazon.com An excellent display - Samsung Tantus HPN6339 63" HDTV-Ready Flat-Panel Plasma TV
The 63" Tantus Samsung plasma TV is capable of delivering exceptional vivid colors. It also supports extremely wide viewing angles both horizontally and vertically. The HPN6339 has an ultra slim profile - making for easy placement - desk or wall mounting - of this huge display panel almost about anywhere. With its astoundingly narrow 3.5" deep, it is even slimmer than most other plasma TVs - including smaller plasma display panels in the 42" to 60" screen size range. This Samsung plasma TV has a native resolution of 1,366 x 768; its direct-digital DVI input works with compatible high-definition DTV set-top boxes and PCs PC resolution is limited to 1024x768 with DVI - this in view that the native horizontal resolution of the Samsung plasma TV is 768 pixels. There's also a standard RGB computer input. It also comes with a built-in two-tuner picture-in-picture, a pedestal stand, and a generous array of audio/video connections. Further more, the set's widescreen (16:9) display is specially configured to accommodate the native aspect ratios of your favorite movies, either from DVD, or from HDTV broadcasts when the set is hooked up to a DTV receiver (DTV receiver not included). Additional inputs include one HD component-video input that supports 720p and 1080i as well as 480p, one SD component-video input (480i), and one each S-video, composite-video, and RF. The HPN6339 Samsung plasma TV incorporates Samsung's proprietary video-enhancement technology known as 'Digital Natural Image engine' or DNIe; it performs 3D noise reduction, and detail and contrast enhancement for all interlaced (non-HD) sources. This DNIe image enhancer feature can be turned on or off according to your preference - our preference is to have it tuned off as at times, it makes some images look unrealistically clear. The set also houses a 10-watts-per-channel audio amplifier but take note that Samsung's matching PSM6330 speakers come as optional. In a similar manner, a matching pedestal stand is also optional.
Please note: The HPN6339 63" Samsung plasma TV was originally reviewed by Practical-Home-Theater-Guide.COM in July 2004. This product has now been discontinued and superseded by other models within the range of Samsung Plasma Televisions.
